SOS

She was 16 and helpless.
She cried, called, texted even went to counsellors.
She searched high and low for help.
'Can anybody hear me?' She asked.

A few tried to help.
Maybe because they were paid to do so.
Maybe because they felt obliged.
Maybe a few people really cared.
But none succeeded.

'What do you actually want?' They would ask; exasperated.
She would look at them, lost in a world only she can see
And reply despairingly 'I don't know.'

The truth is, she does know what she want.
She just doesn't know how anyone can give it to her.

For you see, when it comes to the heart
There is little that can be done.

Her heart continues weeping.
For the stability
Normality
Excitement that she used to feel.
It yearns for hope
Of a better day.
It yearns to be needed
And to be part of a magical journey.
It yearns to be among stars,
High up in the sky.
It yearns to be loved.

Maybe love passes her every day
Love knocks at her door
Love stops by and says hello
But she doesn't feel it.

She's in constant darkness.
Blinded.
Separated from the world.

She's drowning.
And no matter how hard she kicks and struggles to resurface
She's being held down
By an invisible force that is part of her.

She sends out another SOS
'Can anybody hear me?'
